Caramelized Onion Chicken Salt Dip

Introduction: Get ready to whip up a creamy and savoury Caramelized Onion Dip that's perfect for any gathering. With thinly sliced yellow onions and a touch of The Salted Rooster Chicken Salt, this flavorful dip is sure to steal the show.


2 large yellow onions, sliced thinly

½  cup of room-temperature cream cheese

1 Tbsp of The Salted Rooster Chicken Salt

½ cup sour cream 

⅓ cup mayo 

2 Tbsp sliced chives 

2 Tbsp unsalted butter

2 Tbsp vegetable oil 


  1. Melt your butter and oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Then add your sliced onions and salt and cook until they soften (10ish minutes). Reduce the heat to your pan and stir occasionally for 45 minutes. You should have a nice caramelized effect by the end of this. Turn off the heat and transfer your caramelized onions over to a separate bowl and let cool. 
  2. Add your sour cream, mayo, and cream cheese to your onions and mix together. 
  3. Garnish with some sliced chives. Salut!
